Mystery Punter Wins Solid Gold Bar

7th Apr 2014 – A mystery Middlesex casino customer has struck it lucky after winning a solid gold bar worth £25,000.

The Pinner-based punter is a regular player at Jack Gold Casino and scooped the prize after topping a loyalty scheme.

He described the moment he won as ‘fantastic’, but has now pledged to trade the 1kg 24 carat bar in for cash – before heading off on the holiday of a life-time.

He said: “I was totally stunned when I found out. I still can’t quite believe I’ve won a kilogram of gold! It’s a really unique prize and almost too good to be true.

“I love playing the slot machines on my mobile and have had my fair share of wins over the last few months. But I never knew that I’d be so lucky.

“I keep looking at the bar as it’s a real thing of beauty. It’s a shame in a way, but it makes sense to cash it in and enjoy the money – even though I’m unlikely to ever own one again!”

The promotion, designed to reward the site’s regular players, ran in conjunction with a recent Gold Rush-themed television advertising campaign.

Users collected ‘Gold Dust’ and earned ‘Tickets’ which handed out greater rewards to those who played the most and got closest to winning the bar.

Ed Andrewes, CEO of Locus Gaming which runs Jack Gold, said: “We wanted to say thank you to our most loyal customers who use the casino regularly.

“We thought about handing over a monetary prize, but given the site’s name and our adverts about the Gold Rush we thought it would be fun to give away a real gold bar.

“They’re not something you see every day and the novelty factor proved a real hit with players who are hoping to scoop the jackpot – just like the gold prospectors of yesteryear.”

Jack Gold’s advert recently aired on a range of terrestrial and digital channels including ITV, Channel 5, and Sky Television.
